Texas School Funding Problems
Well as always the schools need more money. So we are scrounging around looking for more ways to tax the public to get the money. I have a better idea. Reduce the spending in public schools. But how?
Expell and remove all of the students that don't want to learn or even be in school. If the students are in the public school system and disruptive, dealing drugs, etc throw their sorry asses out and if their parents still want them to get an education they can move to another state or pay for private school. The school districts don't keep these kids in school becuase they think they can turn them around and make a difference... they do it for the headcount to get the funding. Hmm I hate to harp on a subject but why not dump out all of the illegal alien kids while you are at it.
Think about it. You might lose teaching positions in the public schools but will gain just as many in private schools as their population will boom with little thugs. Those jobs will pay even more than public school jobs. The cost of some of you inner city schools will plummet with only 5 students left and those students can actually focus on learning instead of having constant distrations for their now absent thugs.
Yeah I know it won't work but I can dream can't I?

Hey Todd, long time no talk.
Anyway, being the anal efficiency freak that I am I gotta say that I think cost cutting could begin by limiting the school hours to education. Now I'm not dissin' field trips but I get really tired of hearing my kid tell me "we watched a couple of movies in school". And no, we're not talking about lessons in movie form, we're talking about Disney and stuff like that.
Hello!!!
Parents already fry their kids with too much TV and PS2, if schools have 2 hours to burn every day then cut it out of the day and send the kids (and teachers) home.
Personally of course I'd prefer to have the two hours filled with learning, so that maybe all those special programs to help HS kids learn to read and do basic math can be cut entirely ... I know, what a concept.
