Vatican bans gay priests

Well I guess with discussing this article I can offend a lot more people at once, this topic contains almost all of the taboos for polite conversation - Sex - religion - and some Politics. I'm going to try to take the common sense approach to this.

So before yesterday it was ok to have a priest that liked to smoke cock? I'm a live and let live sort of guy. If you are gay, that's cool. You live your life, I'll live mine; but no matter what it is don't try to shove any lifestyle choice down my throat (Hmm bad choice of words?) be it sexual preference, political affiliation or religious belief. I still don't get it, a homosexual priest. Someone please explain this to me. I'm not a daily bible reader by any means, nor a member of the catholic church, but from what I remember there were multiple references to sodomites and basically explaining throughout the whole book that a man should be with a woman and it's not cool with God for a man to do the dirty deed with another man. So as a priest you are supposed to be guiding your church and teaching what's in the bible.

I guess the gay priests just skim over those parts and move on the the other good stuff? For those of you that still don't get it let me put some other unlikely job combination headlines.

Now on to the twist. If you don't travel down the "Hershey Highway" or an open flamer for three years then it's cool you can be a priest? Are they going to institute random gay testing in the church? Hmm I shouldn't go any farther but what the hell. Stool samples? Line up for your mouth swab then get the CSI team in to check for seminal fluid... Hmm seminal fluid .... seminary? Is that where they got the idea to join? Maybe the Catholic church should consider changing that name to just priest school. People might be getting the words mixed up.
